The Hispanic Commercial Guide, Inc. is a Connecticut-based
corporation located in Stratford, Connecticut. It was founded
on April 1996 by Aida and Clodomiro Falcon with the purpose
of fulfilling the need of a telephone directory in Spanish
for the growing Hispanic community of Fairfield County. After
the planning stage, the first sales campaign started on January
27, 1997 and the premier edition of La Guía Hispana
of Fairfield County was launched on October 24, 1997 with
a circulation of 30,000 copies.
The
success of La Guía Hispana of Fairfield County led
to expansion into other counties in Connecticut and New York,
as well. Currently La Guia publish five directories, three
in Connecticut covering Fairfield, New haven, and Hartford
counties and two in New York covering Westchester and Putnam
counties.
Since
1997 to 2008 La Guía has grown from one directory with
30,000 copies and less than 100 customers, to five directories
with 150,000 copies and 1,200 customers. The company started
operating at the basement of Clodomiro & Aida’s
house in Trumbull, CT, and currently operates in a corporate
building in Stratford, CT. Today, La Guia has become the Leading
Spanish Yellow Pages in Connecticut and Westchester County,
N.Y.
Clodomiro
Falcon, President and CEO, has focused on the needs of the
users and the advertisers from the very beginning to produce,
distribute, and promote a product aimed to satisfy those needs,
positioning La Guía as the cornerstone of any successful
integrated media plan to target the Hispanic market. Today,
La Guía is extensively used by the Hispanic consumer
and is delivering results for its advertisers.
The
success of La Guía is not only based on the fact that
it is the right product, at the right time, in the right place,
but also the result of a well encompassed team work where
each member of the organization contributes the most to make
La Guía Hispana the best telephone directory in Spanish
in the areas it covers.
